Neugerriemschneider presents Ai W ei W ei’s famous foreverbicycle installation in Art Basel Hong Kong 2014. They call a team of 6 BALtrans art handlers to take care of the bicycle display’s assembly and installation. After the unpacking of 42 sets of bike framesand wheels from the boxes, the team attaches the wheel on to the forks, tightening the bolts by a wrench to ensure that the bolts are securely snug and spin the wheel to make sure it spins freely. The team assembles parts of the frame to extend upward and outward to connect to other wheels and other frames. Hanart Gallery presents two of Gu W end a’s hand carved stone steles engraved with Chinese characters that convey the knowledge, wisdom and history of China. This stone is called ink jade king (墨玉王) which is fine and smooth and hard, and is much denser than most of the stones. Believing all possible damage is preventable, our fine art team are experienced in handling all fragile and heavy objects. Fine art handlers wrapped the heavy stone with Polystyrene foam.  This protective layer can avoid direct contact with the lifting machine to ensure no harm or damage made on such precious stone during positioning. Anti-shock layers are inserted to separate the artwork from the ground. Each stone stele measuring 117cm x 97cm and weighing in 1.3 tonnes poses hurdle to lift and install in the booth. Forklift operators have to lift the heavy stone in a gentle, skillful and dedicated way and adjust slightly and swiftly in each fine-tuning.
